Checked baggage

It is important that you always pack your bag yourself and pay careful attention to your baggage until it is checked in. 

One bag = maximum 23 kg, maximum measurements (length+width+height) 158 cm

Excess baggage will be charged at the airport before departure (300 SEK/bag/route)

Children

If you are travelling with infants (0-23 months), or children (2-11 years) you are allowed to bring a stroller and/or a car seat in addition to the baggage that is included in your ticket. Read more under Special baggage.

Do not forget to mark your baggage!

The bags should be marked both outside and inside. Braathens Regional Airlines has an efficiant system to trace baggage, but the lack of marking creates problem. Therefore, please help us with this.

Packaging

Checked baggage should be packed securely to prevent it from breaking during the flight transport. The baggage should withstand normal handling during transport within the airport, and during loading and unloading the airplane. 

We can refuse the transport if:

  1. The baggage is not packed satisfyingly. 
  2. The baggage is suspected to contain dangerous goods and you not permitting the baggage to be looked through. 

Items of value that are not allowed to check in:

It is not permitted to bring cash, keys, prescribed medications, jewels, passports and other identity documents, precious metals, fragile items, computers, cellphones, electronic devices, valuable documents, security papers, business documents or other important or valuable items in your checked baggage.

Carry-on baggage is included in all ticket types.

In addition to your carry-on baggage, you are allowed to bring one of the following items in the cabin free of charge:

  • Laptop, that should be placed in a small laptop bag.
  • A small handbag or equivalent.
  • A small camera and a small binocular.
  • A resonable amount of travel reading (that should fit in a bag).

In addition to the extra item above, you are also allowed to bring the following items in the cabin: 

  • Umbrella.
  • Baby food (for example formula and baby food jars) and diet food if you need during the flight. 
  • Helping aid for mobility impaired passengers, for example a walking stick or crutches.
  • Prescribed and over-the-counter medication and health care items (liquids) can be brought in your carry-on baggage without limitation. This also applies to ice packs or equivalent, if you bring medication that demands that. 

Please note that you should display your plastic bag with liquids, baby food, liquid diet food and medications at the security check. The handling of this can be eased by bringing the medication in its original packaging, but it is no demand.  

Packages with liquids, creams etcetera can not exceed 100ml/package and should be packed in a resealable 1 litre plastic bag. One 1 litre plastic bag is allowed per passenger.

Carry-on baggage with an alarm can be brought as long as the alarm is switched off the entire flight.

The carry-on baggage should be able to be placed under the seat in front of you or in the overhead bin. In some of our airplanes, there is a limited space for carry-on baggage in the cabin, which can lead to your bag being sent as checked luggage to your final destination. In that case, we recommend you to take out any travel documents, ID documents and fragile or valuable items from your bag. We apply the rules for carry-on baggage for security reasons foremost, but it is also for comfort and well-being, both for you and your fellow passengers. 

Extra baggage

Book extra baggage

If you are bringing more bags/parcels than what is included in your ticket, you need to buy extra baggage. You can buy extra baggage by doing one of the following:

  • Buy it at the same time as booking your flight ticket at flygbra.se (book no later than 1 hour before departure)
  • After booking your flight ticket at flygbra.se by clicking on "Change booking" and specify surname and booking reference and go to Add Services (book no later than 1 hour prior to departure)
  • Contact our Customer Center (book no later than 1 hour before departure)
  • Through your travel agency (book no later than 1 hour before departure)
  • At the airport before departure (From SEK 300)

 

Refund of extra baggage

Do you regret buying extra baggage? You can cancel your extra baggage and get a full refund up to 3 hours prior to departure. After that, no refund of extra baggage can be made. To cancel your extra baggage, please contact our Customer Center or your travel agency, depending on where you booked your ticket.

Please note that all airports are cash free.

Liquids

A maximum of 1 liter of liquids is allowed in the carry on baggage, with a maximum of 1 dl (100 ml) per contain. Bottles, cans, tubes etcetera, should be placed in a transparent 1 litre plastic bag and should fit in the bag without trouble, and should be closed.

It is only allowed to bring one 1 litre plastic bag. 

The plastic bag should be resealable. If you cannot get ahold of a plastic bag like this, you can find them at the airports. But prepare everything as much as you can, to make the handling at the airport as smooth as possible.

In addition, you are also allowed to bring:

  • Medications.
  • Baby food.
  • Liquids that are included in a special diet that you need during the flight.

Please note that you should display your plastic bag with liquids and any medications, baby food or liquid diet food at the security check.

Liquids cover jellies, creams, mixes of liquids and compact substance and contents in pressure chambers, for example water, toothpaste, hair gel, drinks, soups, lemonade, perfume, shaving lather, aerosols and others with an equivalent consistency.

You will still be able to buy taxfree after the security check at Swedish airports. The checked baggage is not affected by the limitations. We kindly ask you to carefully pack your toiletries, to prevent them from breaking and damageing yours and/or other passengers baggage.

Electronical and battery-operated devices

The following equipment is not allowed to be used on-board:

  • Cellphones/Walkie talkie
  • Radio transmitters
  • Distance control equipment
  • External equipment for laptops
  • Radio and TV-receivers
  • Other equipment that is not mentioned, but holds active transmitters
  • Bluetooth

The following equipment is forbidden to use during take-off and landing, when the sign with "Fasten your seatbelt" is turned on: 

  • Laptop, CD / MP3-play
  • Sound and video recording devices
  • Electrical toys
  • Calculator
  • Pager
  • Electrical razor

Electrical equipment that contains batteries have some restrictions. There are also items and substances counting as dangerous goods. These are normally not permitted to bring on-board. Please read more at Transportstyrelsens website.

Form for bringing battery-operated items on-board

Please note that if you are travelling with a cellphone, laptop, electrical razor, electrical toothbrush or electrical toys, you do not need to fill out the form. 

If you wish to bring baggage you are not completely sure that we can transport, for example drones, airboards and so on, fill out the form for other baggage and it will be easier for us to help you before your journey.

Forbidden items on-board

Airboards are not allowed on-board 

Due to several reported security problems, where airboards operated by lithium batteries have caught fire, Braathens Regional Airlines has decided that airboards are not allowed on-board our flights. Airboards can also be called hoverboards, solowheels, airwheels, kickbikes, longboards, balance and gliders. The prohibition implicate that you, by security reasons, cannot bring these in you checked baggage neither your carry-on baggage. 

Some items are prohibited to bring on-board the aircraft. The prohibition exists to make your flight safe and to prevent illegal actions.

In addition to the items above, Braathens Regional Airlines also has prohibited the following items as baggage:

  • Fermented Baltic herring, pickled herring etcetera, due to the risk of odour damages in case they break during the flight. 
    Note: Shellfish as lobster, crab, fish etcetera that is not alive, can be brought as checked baggage if carefully packed. 
  • Other animals/fishes, despite cat and dog.
  • Pepper spray
  • All containers that contains, or have contained, inflammable liquid and all types of paint
  • Airboards, hoverboards, solowheels, airwheels, balance and gliders. 

Dangerous goods / DGR

There are also items and subtances that count as dangerous goods. These are normally not permitted to bring on-board. Read more about dangerous goods at Transportstyrelsens website.

Please note that the security personnel at the airport have the right to forbid items that they consider to be a danger to the aviation safety. All containers that contain, or have contained, inflammable liquid and all types of paint are not allowed to be transported on-board our flights.

Excess baggage

Domestic excess baggage fee 

Checked baggage can weigh up to 23 kg per bag. Excess baggage will be charged with 300 sek per kilo (23-32 kg) at the airport. Maximum weight for a single bag/parcel is 32 kg.

Extra checked bags

If you are bringing more bags/parcels than what is included in your ticket, you need to buy extra baggage. You can buy extra baggage by doing one of the following:

  • Buy it together with your booking at flygbra.se (book no later than 1 hour before departure)
  • Add checked bags to your booking in Manage My Booking
  • In the digital check in
  • Contact our Customer Center (book no later than 1 hour before departure)
  • Through your travel agency (book no later than 1 hour before departure)
  • At the airport
